At The Crafty Place, we believe creativity should do more than fill an afternoon.  It should give back. Crafting for a Cause is our ongoing commitment to weaving charity and community support into everything we do, one project, one party, and one small act of kindness at a time.

Giving back isn't new to us — it's personal. Before opening The Crafty Place, our founder spent years working in the nonprofit and charity world, and that background shaped what kind of business this was always going to be. Community and giving back aren't an add-on to what we do here; they're now part of the foundation.

What Crafting for a Cause Looks Like:

Giving back isn't a single event for us.  It's built into our calendar all year long. A few ways we've put that into practice:

Supporting local families facing childhood cancer.
We've hosted fundraisers for children in our own community battling childhood cancer, and we're proud to be hosting an Alex's Lemonade Stand fundraiser in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, which funds research to help find cures for kids fighting cancer.

Comfort after disaster.
When families across Texas lost everything in last year's floods, our studio came together to stuff and donate stuffed animals to children who lost their own belongings which we hope was a small piece of comfort during an incredibly hard time.

Holiday cheer for hospitals.
Each holiday season, we host card-making sessions where kids create handmade cards that we deliver to local hospitals, bringing a little extra warmth to patients during their stay.

Earth Day celebrations.
We celebrate Earth Day with hands-on crafting that teaches kids about caring for our planet, turning environmental awareness into something fun and memorable.

Giving back with every birthday.
For every birthday party we host, we donate a birthday cake kit to a local food bank so that every celebration at The Crafty Place helps make sure another family gets to celebrate too.

Why We Do It

Crafts have a way of bringing people together and we've seen firsthand how much more meaningful that becomes when it's paired with purpose. Whether it's raising funds for a family in need, comforting a child who's lost everything, or simply making sure every birthday means two celebrations instead of one, Crafting for a Cause is our way of making sure creativity always points outward, toward our community.
